Do you have any backup plans if something goes wrong or happens to the DJ/Staff?
Yes, We have backup plans in case of any unforeseen circumstances. We have backup equipment, backup Staff & DJs, and backup vehicles to ensure that your event runs smoothly and without interruption.
Can we meet the DJ/Engineer before we confirm?
Yes, you can meet the DJ or Sound Engineer before your event, if you wish. Debut Productions can arrange a consultation with the staff of your choice, where you can discuss your event details, music preferences, and any special requests.
Should we feed the Staff?
It is not mandatory to feed the Staff, but it is a nice gesture to offer them a meal and a drink, especially if they are working for a long time. Alternative arrangements can be discussed prior to the event.
Will the DJ play requests? And can we request songs for the DJ to play?
Yes, the DJ will play requests from you and your guests, as long as they are appropriate and fit the mood of the event. You can also provide a list of songs or genres that you want the DJ to play, or leave it to their professional discretion.
Will the DJ play overtime if needed?
Yes, the DJ can play overtime if needed, subject to an additional fee per hour. The fee will depend on the package and equipment you have chosen.
What are your payment terms?
Debut Productions requires a R500.00 deposit to secure your booking, and the balance is due 7 days before the event. You can pay by EFT or Cash.
When should I book my event with Debut?
It is advisable to book your event with us as soon as possible, especially if you have a specific date or DJ in mind. Debut Productions has a team of qualified and experienced Staff/DJs who can cater to different music genres and tastes, but they are subject to availability.
What equipment do you use?
Debut Productions uses industry professional brands such as JBL, Allen & Heath, and Shure products to ensure clarity and audibility. They also have a variety of lighting and stage equipment to suit different needs and preferences.
What areas do you cover?

Debut Productions services the Gauteng province, including Johannesburg, Pretoria, Midrand, Centurion, and surrounding areas. These areas include, but is not limited to:

City of Ekurhuleni: Alberton, Bedfordview, Benoni, Boksburg, Brakpan, Bapsfontein, Edenvale, Holfontein, Germiston, Isando, Kempton Park, Nigel, Springs

What services does Debut Productions provide?
Debut Productions provides live sound, lighting, staging, dance floors, and wedding DJs for different types of events, such as weddings, birthday parties, corporate events, and live performances.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE – Debut Productions and Events (PTY) Ltd

 

BOOKING AND PAYMENT

1.1 Confirmation: A booking is only deemed valid upon receipt of the specified Non-Refundable Deposit and a signed copy of these terms. Confirmation will be issued by the Company upon receipt of proof of payment.

1.2 Settlement: The remaining balance is due in full on the day of the event in Cash, or via cleared electronic funds prior to the event start.

1.3 Arrears: If the balance is not cleared before the event, the Company reserves the right to withhold or discontinue services.

1.4 Recovery Costs: The customer is liable for all legal costs (on an attorney-and-client scale) incurred by the Company in recovering outstanding payments.

 

CANCELLATION POLICY

Should the customer cancel the booking for any reason, the following charges apply regardless of whether a deposit has been paid:

30+ Days’ Notice: 50% of the total booking price.

Less than 30 Days’ Notice: 100% of the total booking price.

 

CUSTOMER OBLIGATIONS & LIABILITY

3.1 Responsibility: The signatory of this document is irrevocably liable for the full hire charge and any extended periods requested during the event.

3.2 Equipment Safety: The customer is liable for the full replacement cost of any equipment lost, stolen, or damaged due to the acts (negligent or otherwise) of the customer, guests, venue staff, or performers.

3.3 Adverse Weather: In the event of rain, wind, lightning, or other “Acts of God,” equipment will not be operated if there is a risk of damage. If the customer insists on operation against the Company’s advice, the customer assumes full liability for any resulting damage.

3.4 Logistics: The customer must provide:

  • Adequate parking immediately adjacent to the staging area for loading/unloading.
  • Necessary vehicle access permits in advance.

3.5 Catering: A basic meal and soft drinks must be provided for the DJ/Sound Engineer/staff.

 

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

4.1 Power Requirements: The venue must provide a clean and reliable power supply with separate earth and neutral, terminating at a Distribution Box with Circuit Breakers near the stage. A qualified venue electrician must oversee the connection.

 

SERVICES AND CONSULTATION

5.1 Scope: The Company will provide the equipment and personnel for the hours specified in the booking form.

5.2 Consultations: One pre-function consultation is included (up to 30km from Kempton Park). Subsequent meetings or those exceeding this distance will be charged separately.

5.3 Substitutions: While the Company strives to provide a specifically requested DJ/Engineer, we reserve the right to provide a competent substitute should circumstances beyond our control arise.

 

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

6.1 General Indemnity: The Company shall not be liable for any loss or damage sustained by the customer or guests arising from the use or malfunction of equipment, or any acts of negligence.

6.2 Right to Terminate: The Company reserves the right to stop services immediately if equipment is being used improperly, if incorrect information was provided, or if the conduct of the customer/guests creates a risk to personnel or gear.

 

GENERAL

7.1 Jurisdiction: The customer consents to the jurisdiction of the Magistrate’s Court in their district for any legal proceedings.

7.2 Non-Variation: No changes to this agreement are valid unless made in writing and signed by both parties.
